In this platform, designers participate in a creative discourse by assuming the identity of an accomplished figure in the field of art, design or architecture. By learning about the artist’s work and design/artistic philosophy and principles, the designer creates an artefact, a product or a series, as a continuation of the artist’s embodiment of ideas for a contemporary world.
What if I were Roy Lichtenstein? In my contemporary reimagination of Lichtenstein's design philosophy, I emulated his juxtaposition of medium and technique to create dissonance within popular media. By turning the typically unobtrusive subtitle into a part of the viewing experience, SFX! challenges the norms of how we consume media.
